Beach House Tools and Materials Drive
Hi Folks,
As we prepare to build our first set at the Beach House AND to have the facility partially “equipped” for such thespian activity, we are asking that you search your basement, storage shed, attic, or car trunk and identify any tools (hammers, screwdrivers, tape measures, etc) that you no longer require and that might be donated to a permanent “tool box” at the Beach House.
Also, if you have any slightly damaged pieces of plywood or Styrofoam that you were hoping to dispose of, we could put them to excellent use in building the set pieces for Superstar.
The Beach House will be open next Saturday morning (September 25) from 10:00am-noon for “deliveries” of said materials and equipment.
Any donations to the cause would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much

You are cordially invited to attend a housewarming.

There will be a Cabaret setting with some entertainment (keyboard, etc). Byob and goodies, etc. Costumes optional: come as your most-loved ACT role, or prop piece, or piece of furniture, or set design—past, present, or future.

A Home, Thanks to Terry
Terry Pratt has shown that he is a generous fellow, a very generous man indeed. But he has also shown, once again, his commitment and initiative to provide leadership within ACT.

We’re talking about The Beach House* – now ACT’s full-time headquarters.
Year after year the people who make ACT’s shows happen have found that the biggest and most frustrating difficulty has been the lack of a space where we could construct the sets, collect the costumes, keep the left-over materials, store the reusable set pieces and costumes. Now we’ve got that space. It will even give us a pretty good spot for running rehearsals and holding meetings. And it is right in town.

Beach House Gets a Coat of Paint
ACT’s new warehouse gets a fresh coat of paint and looks forward to future activities.
There was a lot of activity this past Saturday down at ACT’s new warehouse. Our new facility, already being referred to as ‘The Beach House’, was given a fresh coat of paint. Most of the superfluous benches and counters had already been removed and moved into the back room over the last few weeks. Same with most of the electric outlet plates. Only the office and washroom still had lighting fixtures, mirrors, cabinets and outlets needing to be removed. Ben took care of these easily on Saturday morning before he left.
