Jesus Christ Superstar Hits 100% of Capacity!!!!!

Jesus Christ Superstar opened last night to a capacity crowd. The entire run is sold-out. The box-office had to double staff and increase hours to deal with the demand.

The performance felt wonderful and had only enough glitches to remind us of how exciting it was to be doing ?live? theatre.

The audience was chomping on the bit to show their appreciation and the final ovation was a spontaneous release of emotions. It was one of, if not the biggest ovation I have experienced at the centre ? particularly for Jesus, Judas and Mary. Way to go!!!!! What a thrill!!!

JC Superstar Make-up Hints

Please provide your own foundation makeup a medium to dark beige, depending on your colouring. Those who need to purchase their makeup should buy an inexpensive liquid foundation. If you already have pancake makeup, you may of course use that. The key thing here is that the makeup should not look any darker than street makeup when it is on.

Become “Prop"erly acquainted with another valuable member of the JCS team!

JANET MACDONALD ? PROPS

Raised in Regina, Janet moved around quite a bit over the years until making Prince Edward Island her home in 1976. A retired social worker, she loves singing in choirs, and has been a member of the chorus for five Gilbert and Sullivan productions. You also may have seen Janet when she appeared as a ?Woman of Canterbury? in ?Murder in the Cathedral? this past summer.

image

In her spare time Janet enjoys crafts, reading, and gardening. And from time to time you may even spot her taking her dog Murdoch for a walk near her home in West Royalty.

Having helped with props on a number of productions in the past, Janet was happy to get involved in that role again in “Jesus Christ Superstar”.

When asked how she’ll look back on her participation in the production Janet chuckles, “Well, I hope my props will be presentable!” Then adds thoughtfully, “And I hope my contribution will be helpful.”

Pre-Production Superstar Stories

Bet you didn’t realize that there were 80 people directly involved in mounting ACT’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar. That’s pretty impressive!! There is almost exactly the same number of people involved in the show ‘off-stage’ as ‘on-stage’. Without them, the show just wouldn’t go on. And these off-stage folks donate their time without the attraction of potential applause on-stage performers expect to receive.

With this in mind, I have asked Rebecca to do some pieces for our website. I think it would be good for all of us to be more aware of all the people working on our show.

So, don’t be surprised if you get a call or an email from Rebecca. Let her know what you are doing and maybe even send her a photograph if you have one. Then check the site frequently to read (and / or see) about yourself and others in this super Superstar production!!!
