Summer Dance Programs at The Banff Centre

Dance Apprentice: June 06 - July 17
Dance Training: July 04 - August 06
Professional Dance: June 06 - July 17

Application deadline: December 10, 2004   (Applications received after December 10 will be considered as the audition schedule permits.)

The Banff Centre is one of North Americas leading training retreats for emerging professional dancers, offers participants a nurturing company environment to work with internationally celebrated guest teachers and choreographers. Complimenting the Professional program is the Dance Apprentice program, attended by young artists who work and learn alongside the Professional participants and are given performance opportunities in Festival Dance.

Under the expert guidance of program director Annette av Paul, associate program director David LaHay, artistic advisor Brian Macdonald, and a team of world-class instructors, participants will learn and perform repertoire to be presented in the Banff Summer Arts Festival. In 2005, Festival Dance will include two new works by the recipients of the Clifford E. Lee Choreography Award, Sabrina Matthews and Peter Quanz, and Aimez-vous Bach? by Canadian dance icon Brian Macdonald, C.C, originally created in Banff and subsequently danced by companies all over the world; it received the gold star at the Paris International Dance Festival in 1964.
