Marion Bridge in May

Marion Bridge, the acclaimed play by Cape Breton playwright Daniel MacIvor, will be the first show to perform at the newly renovated Arts Guild in Charlottetown this May.

Marion Bridge is a modern Canadian play that explores the tense and humourous family dynamics between three estranged sisters (played by Christina Forgeron, Kathleen Hamilton and Melissa Mullen) brought together by the imminent death of their mother. The play nails the banter of sisters and captures the abrasive casualness that colours even their most affectionate moments. The growth of these unique characters, separately as individuals and together as a family, is a wonder to behold, and as satisfying as Sunday dinner.

Directed by Laurel Smyth and produced by the newly-formed Beyond the Bridge Theatre Collective, Marion Bridge will also give PEI audiences a first look at the new $800,000 renovations to the Arts Guild performance space.

Performance dates for Marion Bridge are May 5, 6, 7 and May 12, 13, and 14. Doors open at 7:30 pm, shows start at 8:00 pm. Tickets at the door: $15 or $13 for students and seniors. There will also be a “pay-what-you-can” matinee at 2 pm on May 14th
