Community theatre alive and well
Recently I attended the ACT production of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ presented for the third time to a full house at Confederation Centre to the delight an an enthusiastic audience. When was the last time any show, amateur or professional, played to a sold-out house three times in a row at the centre?
The cast, directors, choreographer, production staff and orchestra deserve our thanks for presenting such an exceptional performance. I was especially pleased to see so many new faces on stage in leading parts and otherwise.
As a sometime performer with ACT, I left the centre following this production of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ convinced that our community theatre is alive and well, with great promise for the future.
It will indeed be a hard act to follow.
