Casting Call for Short Film: “Harbinger.”
“Harbinger,” a short film written and directed by Justin O’Hanley, is now casting. It’s an adventure film being made with resources from both Holland College and the Island Media Arts Co-op, and it is also intended to serve as a pilot to raise funds for a feature film project in the future. Barring unforeseen developments, it will shoot over the course of five to six days, on weekend afternoons starting mid-November. And though there’s a limit on the number of people who can actually be in the movie, the number of crew positions are unlimited, so if you’re interested in working behind the scenes, that’s an option too. If you have questions about any of the roles, the movie, or if you want to see the script, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!

-JOHN: A 20 something man to play one of the leads. Needs to go from submissive and frightened to confident and forceful through the course of the short.
-SAVANNAH: A 20 something woman to play the other lead. Generally likable and fun, but displays hidden toughness when danger arises.
-ALEX: A young, bearded man. Utterly self-involved and happy to ignore all the problems in the world… until they come directly to him. Although other characters believe that he’s key in the battle between good and evil, they consider him completely untrustworthy.
-HELEN: A blonde 20 something woman who is mature and serious beyond her years. A very authoritative “mentor” figure. Is well learned in a number of mysterious subjects, and very annoyed that others don’t take them as seriously as her.
- THE MAN IN THE BLACK ROBE (A.K.A. “The Harbinger”): A pale, gaunt man in a black robe. Has a “striking” face and no hair. The other characters are frightened of him, regarding any of his appearances as a sign of impending death and misery, but he takes a genuine childlike pleasure in being Evil Incarnate. And he conveys this without ever saying a word.
