ACT presents Community Appreciation Award to Mae Ames

<table><tr><td valign=“top”>image</td><td>ACT will present Mae Ames with its Community Appreciation Award in fond recognition of her many years as a local actor and teacher. The presentation will be part of the 2005 PEI Community Theatre Festival Gala on Sunday March 13, at MacKenzie Theatre. Ron Irving will introduce Mae and make the presentation.</td></tr></table

The official mandate of ACT (a community theatre) is the promotion of community theatre on Prince Edward Island. One of the ways it promotes community theatre is through its productions - 26 in the last 10 years.

Another way ACT promotes community theatre is by saying ‘thank you’ - the way we do that is by presenting our Community Appreciation Award. This award is given to a person, group or organization that has made a significant contribution to community theatre on PEI.

ACT’s Community Appreciation Award has been given out three times in the past. It has gone to David Sherren, The Staff and Crew of the Confederation Centre and The Buzz.

You are encouraged to attend the Theatre Festival Gala and celebrate with us.
