A great performance of a great musical
I recently returned from a night in Charlottetown at the theatre. I was amazed and happy to see almost a full house (on a Thursday night) at the Confederation Centre to see a marvelous and very well-done performance of Jesus Christ Superstar.
One of my favourite musicals, I almost know all the words and how it was sung in the movie. I must say it was pretty close to the movie version and the cast sang just the way I remember it.
The stage director (Allie McCrady) and the musical director (Shirley Anne Cameron) certainly chose the right people to play the lead parts. If the cast did not have their own professions, I would suggest that it could be on the summer mainstage and everyone would be enjoying what I enjoyed the other night.
