A Big Thank You
A big thank-you to all the folks who shared in the going-away party last Saturday (August 13th).
What a good time we had: magnificent setting—the lovely pond-side garden of Terry & Jennifer ... yummy food ... wonderfully humiliating stories ... warm-feeling cards ... a dandy and very useful keepsake memory (book of practical theatre tips) ... and most of all, the great company of fine friends.
We are awed by the good fortune we’ve had in ACT over this past decade—tremendous experiences and shared accomplishments, but the best was the people—the fellowship with such interesting and fun folks.
Conventional to say, but oh-so-true: we’re really going to miss you over the coming two years. But we’ll keep in touch, with reports from the (literally) hot theatre scene of the Solomon Islands.
Thanks so much.
Rob & Mar
Take Action to Defend Canadian Radio Programs
Dear Gerry:
Every once in a while something happens that, left unchallenged, can be bad news for the future of Canadian radio and television and especially for Canadian music creators. Such an event occurred on June 16th, when the CRTC licensed two American satellite pay radio companies to distribute almost 200 channels of new American music into Canada, with only 8% Canadian content.
